The Macedonian, European, Mediterranean, and global pearl of archaeological and cultural heritage, Ohrid, is transforming into a modern hub of fundamental analyses and methodological rigor. A meeting point of Mediterranean archaeologists dedicated to reinvigorating the discipline, comprehending its
shortcomings, providing novel approaches in understanding its shared past and
confronting the Mediterranean and global challenges of today and tomorrow.
The International Symposium on Theoretical Mediterranean Archaeology – Lychnida represents a new institution that continues the great legacy of the City of Light and UNESCO’s noble mission. It embodies the shared commitment to promoting peace, fostering cultural understanding, and safeguarding humanity’s collective heritage.
